Wilson Foundation Awards two-year grants totaling $2.7 million; Announces changes to Foundation Board and staff

December 13, 2024; New Brighton, Minnesota—The Wilson Foundation, a private foundation established in Minnesota in 2021, announced unrestricted two-year grants to seven Minnesota nonprofit organizations totaling $2.7 million.

“The Wilson Foundation is pleased to continue its trust-based approach to grantmaking by extending multi-year grants to seven high performing organizations that have clearly demonstrated operational excellence. Moving to a multi-year grant cycle is a natural next step to further strengthen our existing partnerships, said Dan Fick, Wilson Foundation Board member. “Multi-year grants can provide greater certainty and clarity to our partners as they execute strategic plans and invest in organizational capacity. We’re confident in our partners’ ability to leverage our commitment and maximize impact.”

“Hired is deeply grateful to the Wilson Foundation, not only for their generous support, but also for their deep and thoughtful partnership. Through this shared commitment to and work toward expanding opportunities for Twin Cities jobseekers, we are preparing more people for successful, high-demand careers and building a more inclusive economy,” said Deanna Threadgill, Advancement Director at Hired.

The Foundation also acknowledges the many contributions made by Brenda Furlow, one of the Foundation’s founding Board members, as her term ends on December 31, 2024. Brenda helped shape the Foundation’s mission and strategy and actively participated in partnership development with grantees.
